Hi,
Last month’s post about fading out Instagram and finding new ways to consume content / stay on top of trends / discover new people + things really resonated with a lot of you…so wanted to give you another new non-IG place I love (it just launched last week).
It’s called Superbloom! If you’re into florals, gardening, and/or just looking at pretty things – it’s a hit. I’m very into the Discover section with its “Creative Conversations” section featuring floral farmers, home gardeners, and botanical artists.
Also, into the Floriculture section that dives into the history of florals in art, fashion, and film. And I loved this super in-depth piece on the botanicals / flowers in the Wizard of Oz (did you know Judy Garland owned her own flower shop!?). Go check out Superbloom (and if you’re on IG, they have a beautiful one).
Alright, below is a packed newsletter! We’ve got a recipe from the new book Seasonal Family Almanac: Recipes, Rituals, and Crafts to Embrace the Magic of the Year. But first, lighting designer and founder of Riloh, Melissa Sutton, shares the things that freaked her week (she sent in 10+ things!). What I love about her picks (aside from them all being super cool) – is that she wrote just a few words about what she liked about each one…making it a quick and very clickable read.
Go dive in!
See you next week.
Love,
Jessica
The Things That Freaked My Week With Riloh’s Melissa Sutton
Our guest: Melissa Sutton is a southern-born designer whose work blurs the line between product and sculpture. Beginning her career working for famed interior designer Michael Smith in Los Angeles, Sutton went on to launch Plum Collective, a conceptual design studio and then co-founded Riloh, a lighting studio that interweaves time-honoured craft and cutting-edge technology. Her fascination with light and how it can invoke curiosity continues to inspire her. Sign up for their coming-soon newsletter.
Plus, Melissa just always knows about the coolest things.
Here’s Melissa’s picks!
